Derek and I have our "usual" things we do at the fair. We always eat the same things and visit the same places. Before we had kids, we pretty much ate our favorite foods (pronto pup for me, pork chop-on-a-stick for Derek, deep-fried pickles for both of us, and cheese curds twice) and walked around. We visited the barns and the fish pond. That was about it.
This year we added a few new things to the mix for the kids. First was the Little Farm Hands exhibit. Punky and Buddy both had a great time scooping corn, driving a tractor, planting seeds, and feeding the "animals".
Buddy cried when we made him leave this station. He had so much fun digging in the dirt. |
Punky at 30??? |
It was easy to tell how excited Punky was by the pitch of her voice. Everytime she saw something new and exciting her voiced reach a higher octave. "Cows!" "Ice Cream!!"
She made out pretty good too. While we were sitting down somewhere, the people next to us offered her a chocolate chip cookie. And as we were leaving, another woman came up to her and gave her a stuffed doggy. She is a pretty lucky girl!
We took the bus to the fair. I think it was another highlight of the day. Overall, the kids did really great! We had a busy day and got home super late without any major meltdowns.
