Fresh Beat Band

Punky's BFFs gave us a copy of the Fresh Beat Band CD a few months ago.  It quickly became one of Punky favorites!  Mommy might even listen to it when the kids aren't in the car...

100 Animals

I randomly pulled out our video camera the other day and found a bunch of videos Daddy made while I've been away at work.  This is the first of a few videos I am planning on posting.

To anyone who has read this blog before, it is no surprise that Buddy loves animals.  (Which by the way, I am sooo thankful for... The neighbor boys are all into Star Wars and I am so not looking forward to that stage.  I'll take animals, trains and dinosaurs any day.)

Anyway, Buddy has a few animal books that he reads multiple times per day.  Currently, it is a Noah's Ark book he found by himself at the library.  But, this 100 Animals book is one of his favorites.

I love this video because it shows how well Buddy knows his animals.  For example, he knows the difference between a penguin and a puffin.  Also, I am so happy that we have a recording of Buddy saying all the animal names.  I never want to forget how he says giraffe ("jaff"), zebra ("deba") and polar bear ("polo boy").

Alpacas!

This weekend we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a fun weekend.  On Saturday morning, we walked to the park.  Punky and Buddy had a great time swinging, climbing and running around.  Buddy tried the big twisty slide all by himself and experienced some wicked static.

After the playground, Daddy took off for a golf tournament while Grandma had a big surprise for Punky and Buddy.  One of Grandma's coworkers runs an alpaca farm and we got to visit!

They had probably a dozen or so alpacas along with three babies that were just born this summer.  We also had a chance to check out the chickens, dogs, cats and bunnies on the farm.

No surprise, but Buddy was so excited!  He learned how to say alpaca pretty quick and ran from fence to fence shouting "Hi Alpaca".  Punky was so happy when she got to feed the baby alpaca a bottle.  It was such a fun treat to get to visit the farm.  Thanks, Grandma!

Look at the pure joy on Buddy's face!

Jokes

Punky's latest thing is telling jokes.  She's developed quite the repertoire.  She has learned a few knock-knock jokes and we've taught her some riddles.  Here are some of her favorites:

-Knock, Knock
-Who's there?
-Turnip
-Turnip Who?
-Turnip the heat; it's cold outside!

-What did the parrot want for the Fourth of July?
-A Firecracker!

-What do you call a dog in the summer?
-A Hot Dog!

-What is black and white and red?
-A Sunburned Zebra!

She delivers the jokes pretty well too, I think.  (Much better than I can!)  She is even starting to make her own up!  I laughed so hard the first time she told us this one, I think Punky really thought it was funny!
