Trick-or-Treat

It was another fun night spent creating memories with friends.  Like last year, we went over to the MG Twins house for pizza and trick-or-treating.  This year, our friend Miss E joined in on the fun too!

It was so much fun to see the kids having fun!  Punky did well saying "Trick-or-Treat" and "Thank You".  After every house, she would say, "Let's go trick-or-treating AGAIN!"  Buddy did well too.  We carried him most of the way, but by the end he was wanting to walk and hold out the bucket on his own.

Pre-Halloween Parties

Halloween is still four days away and we've already worn our costumes three times.  On Tuesday, we wore costumes to D/HH class.  And that night, there was also a D/HH family night.  Punky got to see some of her old friends and teachers who aren't in class with us this year.

Today, we went trick-or-treating at the grocery store with the MG Twins and Miss E.  This morning I told Punky what we were doing and she did NOT want to go.  Later, she told me that she didn't want to trick-or-treat at the store, she wanted to trick-or-treat in the dark!  The kids got some yummy treats like a carton of milk, carrots, a bag of chips, a granola bar and a little candy.  I was happy because they also give each of the kids a nice resuable shopping bag (BONUS- I got two this year!).  Eventhough the store was packed, everyone did good and we all had fun!

We stuck around for awhile after getting our treats and danced.  Buddy was right there in the middle with all the "big" kids.  He was bouncing away, not even caring if his mommy (or anyone he knew) was around.

So Silly

Daddy and Punky had fun this afternoon with the web cam.  I can't believe Derek let me post this...  it is so funny!  My face still hurts from laughing so much.

Projects and Books

Punky always enjoys crafts and art projects when we are at school.  I need to make more of an effort to do more projects with her at home.  (Since she isn't napping these days, there should be plenty of time.)  I did some google searching and found this cute idea I wanted to try at home.  We watched our friends, the MG Twins, today while their mommy was at the dentist, so I thought it'd be fun to try a project with all the girls.  Punky was so excited but when the girls got here they were more interested in playing with all the new toys, they weren't interested in the art project.  So, Punky did it by herself.  Regardless, she was as happy as can be!

In the past few weeks, our little Buddy has found his love for books.  I have seriously read the same 4 or 5 books about 10 times each every day for the last week.  His favorites are anything with animals or Elmo.  (Why do kids like Elmo so much?  Buddy has seen Sesame Street maybe once or twice!)  I wish you could all see the way Buddy "asks" someone to read a book to him.  He grabs a book and toddles over to you with the biggest smile.  Then when he is about two feet away, he turns around and inches backwards until he gets to your lap and he plops down.  It is too cute!

Farm

This weekend we went to an amazing farm with Grandma and Grandpa.  It was so nice out when we left home, but as we headed west, rain clouds started to form.  It was a little wet when we got there, but the sun came out by noon.  The weather was perfect- not too cold and not too hot (Can you believe it has been in the 80s nearly every day this month?).

There was so much to do at the farm.  First, we went through the barn and fed the animals.  There were goats, llamas, ponies, bunnies, puppies, kitties, ducks, chickens, roosters, a fawn, a camel, a pig, and a kangaroo wallaby.  Some of the animals were roaming around the entire farm and the kids were able to feed, pet or hold most of the animals.  Buddy had no fear and went right up to all the animals.  He really enjoyed petting them all.  For some reason, Punky was expecting to ride a kangaroo at the farm.  Not sure where that came from!

There were lots of other activities too.  We went on a pony ride, played a few holes of mini-golf, went on a tractor train ride, slid down the giant slide about 10 times, and bounced in the inflatable bouncy houses.  Punky's favorite thing by far was this trough thing they had set up with water pumps.  She pumped and pumped and sent about 200 hundred duckies back and forth.

We had a good day with Grandma and Grandpa at the farm.  I think we've found another fun autumn tradition!

Six Years

Happy Anniversary, Babe.

I know we always say it, but I really can't believe we've been married for six years already.  (Together for 13 years which is 42% of our lives BTW).  Yowza!

I remember our wedding day like it was yesterday.  I was so happy!  We've been through a lot in the last few years (two kids in less than two years is hardwork, people!) but I am so glad that we did it together.  You still make me so happy!

Love always and forever,
Erin

Sleeping Babes

Are we the only parents that take pictures of our kids sleeping?!?  I hope not!  Kids are so cute sleeping and we often find them in the silliest positions.

Buddy's chunky thighs were stuck in the crib slats.
We moved him.

Punky only naps once every two weeks or so.
We found her sleeping in the closet last weekend.
We did not move her.

Buddy loves this pink shovel.
He threw such a fit today when I tried to leave it in the garage, so I let him nap with it.

Fall Fun

This morning we met Auntie Amber and Uncle Ryan (we can say Uncle now!) at an apple orchard.  Uncle Ryan's nephew and niece and their parents met us there too.  Punky was looking forward to seeing them again since she had so much fun the last time she saw them at the wedding.  The kids picked up right where they left off the last time and were happy to see each other.  They are sure to be life long friends!
